KBS Signs Full-floor Lease for 39,911 Sq. Ft. at Piedmont Center 5-8 near Atlanta

Agreement with McCurdy & Candler Brings High-profile Building to 87 Percent Occupancy

Atlanta, GA - January 19, 2010: KBS Realty Advisors of Newport Beach, Calif., one of the nation’s largest real estate investment advisors, has finalized a full-floor, 39,911-square-foot lease at one of the four buildings it owns at Piedmont Center in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. The agreement with the law firm of McCurdy & Candler for the entire seventh floor of Piedmont Center 6 brings the four buildings to close to 87 percent occupancy.

Jeff Keppen of the Atlanta office of CB Richard Ellis represented KBS in the transaction, while Tom Davenport of LaVista Associates of Norcross, Ga., represented McCurdy & Candler, which will be moving its headquarters from 250 E. Ponce De Leon Ave. in Decatur to Piedmont Center.

McCurdy & Candler is a full service, general business and civil litigation law firm focused on the financial and mortgage banking communities. Acquired by KBS in December 2004, Piedmont Center 5, 6, 7, and 8 total 505,113 square feet of Class A office space at the center of the 52-acre Piedmont Center office campus in Atlanta’s prestigious Buckhead neighborhood. The seven-story buildings were built between 1981 and 1983 and feature ample free parking and amenities that include an on-site café, banking facilities, child care, conferencing facilities, and on-site security and property management.
