KBS Realty Advisors Aligns Itself for Future Growth with New Senior-level Post and Promotions

Ken McKay Assumes New Position of National Director of Portfolio Operations; Rodney Richerson Elevated to Central Regional President

Newport Beach, Calif., April 19, 2010: KBS Realty Advisors, one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate advisors and buyers, continues to align itself for future growth with the creation of a new senior-level post and the promotion of two long-time KBS executives who will be instrumental in helping the company expand and maximize the performance of its national commercial real estate portfolio.

Ken McKay, regional president of the 14-state Central Region, has been promoted to KBS executive vice president and national director of portfolio operations. Rodney Richerson has been promoted to regional president of the Central Region and will also retain his role as KBS’ director of asset management. Collectively, the two KBS veterans offer more than five decades of commercial real estate experience, including 32 years with KBS.

KBS-affiliated companies currently own 154 commercial office and industrial properties nationwide totaling more than 40 million square feet.

“The past and anticipated future growth of KBS necessitates a new position that can oversee acquisitions of large real estate portfolios often distributed across multiple regions,” explained Chuck Schreiber, KBS Realty Advisors chief executive officer. “Ken has been a tremendous contributor to KBS since he joined the company, and is exactly the leader we need to fill this senior post. Meanwhile, Rodney’s ability to create new property strategies and procedures to maximize investment return for clients in the Central Region and beyond ideally qualifies him for the regional presidency.”

In his new role, McKay will manage all KBS real estate portfolio acquisition activities, and work to expand KBS investor relationships and top-tier property investment opportunities. He joined KBS in 1994 as an asset manager, responsible for debt investment portfolios, before becoming a portfolio manger tasked with the performance of investments acquired by KBS for the State of Michigan Retirement System. He became one of three KBS Realty Advisors regional presidents in 2002 when the company reorganized regionally.

Richerson, who also joined KBS in 1994 as an asset manager, was eventually tasked with asset management responsibilities for the company’s Houston property portfolio. He has since played a pivotal role in the acquisition, operation and successful disposition of various high-return KBS investments. Prior to KBS, he worked with Koll Development in Newport Beach and Mexico City, and then with Koll Investment Management, where he handled the asset management of a large number of Texas assets.

McKay graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in business from Oregon State University. He later graduated cum laude with a JD degree from California Western School of Law. Richerson earned his bachelor’s degree in real estate finance from California State University in Fullerton.
