KBS Realty Advisors Taps Steve Evans
to Oversee Acquisitions in the Middle Atlantic
Commercial Real Estate Veteran Brings Uniquely Local Experience in Washington, D.C., and Middle Atlantic Markets
Washington, D.C. - August 19, 2009: KBS Realty Advisors, one of the country’s largest private-equity real estate companies and SEC-registered investment advisors, has announced that 21-year real estate veteran Steve Evans has joined the company as senior vice president and director of acquisitions for the Middle Atlantic region. He will be based at the company’s Washington, D.C., office, and partner with Robin Burke, KBS senior vice president and asset manager for the region.
“In addition to his national acquisition expertise, Steve Evans has emerged as an expert in the unique commercial real estate complexities of the Middle Atlantic – a region that has become increasingly important to KBS thanks to a gradual rebounding of the government, technology and service sectors in Washington, D.C., and surrounding markets,” explained Chuck Lindwall, KBS Eastern regional president. “We are honored to welcome Steve to the KBS family.”
Evans comes to KBS from Carr Properties of Washington, D.C., where he was senior vice president of investments, responsible for the investment and asset management performance of a number of high-profile area projects.
Prior to that, he was with Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group, also of Washington, D.C., most recently as senior vice president and regional acquisition officer covering the East Coast. In this capacity, he oversaw the acquisition of commercial office/industrial, mixed-use and residential income and development properties throughout Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland and other East Coast cities on behalf of the company’s investors.
Previously, Evans was vice president and director of development for The Rubenstein Company, L.P., of Philadelphia, responsible for the development and asset management of value-add properties throughout Pennsylvania, Virginia and Georgia; and was affiliated with The Evans Company of Mclean, Va., and JMB Realty Corporation and Cassidy & Pinkard, Inc., both of Washington, D.C.
A resident of Mclean, Va., and graduate of Vanderbilt University, Evans is active in the Urban Land Institute and the D.C. Chapter of the Building Industry Association, and is a founding member of the George Washington University Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis Advisory Board.
KBS-affiliated companies own seven properties in the Middle Atlantic region totaling more than 1.8 million square feet of office space. The companies’ three properties in the Washington, D.C., area total more than 857,000 square feet and include Tysons Dulles Plaza in Mclean, Va.; 1945 Old Gallows Road in Vienna, Va.; and Redwood Plaza in Fairfax. KBS has earmarked the Nation’s Capital for future acquisition growth.
